The KHT3005SE K2 is the latest incarnation of KEF’s 3000SE series home theatre system. Retaining KEF’s iconic “egg” shaped die-cast HTS3001SE satellites and HTC3001SE centre speaker from the KHT3005SE system, the included subwoofer is now the powerful performance driven KUBE-2.

KEF’s patented Uni-Q® driver configuration, places the tweeter in the acoustic centre of the bass/midrange cone. This creates a single focused audio source that disperses the sound image evenly throughout the room so that everyone enjoys the full richness of music or movie soundtracks. The Uni-Q array in the KHT3005SE K2 uses our latest 165mm (4.5in.) design with tangerine wave guide that performs better than ever; delivering ultra-wide dispersion and a 3D soundscape that will be enjoyed with equal pleasure by everyone in the room. Instead of having identical centre and satellite speakers like other systems, we use a stunning dedicated centre channel that gives dialogue more weight and clarity delivering cinema-like frontal impact. Featuring a powerful 200W Class-D amplifier and side-firing 250mm (10in.) long-throw bass driver with complimentary 250mm (10in.) ABR, the high performance KUBE-2 subwoofer delivers deep impressively well defined tuneful bass that is sure to rock any home theatre. The KUBE-2’s adjustable bass boost control allows the listener to tailor the sub to match any listening preference or to match any room condition while its handsome design will be a welcome addition to any listening room.

The company was founded in 1961 by Raymond Cooke MBE (1925–1995) and was initially headquartered in a Nissan Hut on the premises of Kent Engineering & Foundry (from where the name KEF is derived) – a metal-working company on the banks of the River Medway, near Maidstone in Kent, Cooke, an ex-BBC Electrical Engineer, was keen to experiment with new materials and technologies in order to create products with superior acoustic quality that could reproduce recordings as natural as the original performance.
